At various points along the Stour estuary the sandy banks are slowly being washed away. Trees perched on the edge are undermined by the tidal water and they fall onto the beach. Over a period of time they are rounded and smoothed by winds and waves. These woody skeletons not only remind us of their original forms but also point the way to the driftwood that they will utimately become.
